Be The Light

Mathew 5:14-16

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Light defined

• the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible.

• It is that which enable vision or sight.

• Light is the absence of darkness.

• Light is God. Psalm 27:1.

• Light is goodness. (Darkness is evil)

Be the light is a call for us to be who we are. Jesus calls us the Light of the world because that is what God made us be. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

It is time to shine the light at a time when darkness is spreading fast.

We cannot afford to watch it is time to act. BE THE LIGHT.

• Light illuminate. Isaiah 60:1-3. To light up something, make clearer something difficult to understand. Bring peace and goodness into a place. By being different, speaking the truth always.

• Light beautify. Genesis 1:3-4. You can't see the beauty of a place until there is light. The world will not be a good place to live if you as the light is not there. With your kindness, gentleness, calmness, following orders, living right, etc. you can beautify the world.

• Light changes. John 1:5. You are a world changer. The apostles were referred to as world changers in Act 17:6. Through your inspiration, motivation, power, miracle, extraordinary abilities, gift of the holy ghost etc. Get to a place and make a change. Let the norm change. Let them know that it is a Christian that is in charge.

• Light leads. Exodus 13:21. Shows the way to others (preach the gospel). Be an example morally, character, spiritually etc. Preach the gospel, reach out to the lost and lead them back to the path of life.

• Light brings hope. Help the helpless. Be like the good Samaritan in Luke 10:33-36 who helped the helpless. Give hope to the hopeless like people in dire need. Be involved in social responsibility.

• Light gives vision. By your light inspire others. Isaiah 61:1-3.

Decide to be the light. God has sent us as light into this world.

Romans 8:1 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The world wants to see us. Enough of putting your light under the bushel, it is time to uncover. Enough of Christians that are not light. It is time to stand up for what we are. Get the light (Jesus) and be the light.

Declaration

This little light of mine is going to let it shine. Father, I commit to being the light from now on in Jesus name.
