II Peter 1:5
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
Our faith is not enough to beam the light to the world, God expects us to show the light by our virtue.
Virtue defined
• moral excellence; integrity of character; purity of soul; performance of duty.
• behaviour showing high moral standards.
Virtue is what shows that we are Christians. The word Christian came from the assessment of the moral (virtue) of the then believers.
Being the light means showing that you are a Christian by your virtue. The high moral standards the world want to see in you are:
1. Virtue in speech
2. Virtue in leadership
3. Virtue in marriage.
4. Virtue in work or business dealings
5. Virtue in personal dealings
6. Virtue in exercising authority
7. Virtue in serving or service
8. Virtue in following (follower)
9. Virtue in the profession.
10. Virtue in exercising power. Etc.
God expect us to be the light in everything. That you claim you have Jesus is the more reason why you must display virtue. II Peter 1:5 clearly state that our faith is not enough, virtue is necessary. Where is your virtue? BE THE LIGHT!
Declaration
Lord, my heart is fixed on this one thing! To shine and be the light. Father, I receive the divine enablement to be the light in Jesus name.
