A songwriter wrote " I love that man of Galilee, for he has done so very much for me. He has forgiven all my sins and...' This song tells of the encounter of a man with the man of Galilee- Jesus Christ. In today's series we will look at some other personality that encounters Jesus to discover Him.

The thief at the right hand on the cross discovered Jesus (Luke 23:40-43)

Luke 23:42-43 KJV

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The encounter of this thief with Jesus Christ was a very short one but with an everlasting impact. Discoveries from his encounter are as follows:

1. A second encounter with Jesus is enough to create an impact.

2. When you come to Jesus with acknowledgement of your sins he will connect with you.

3. There is nothing Jesus cannot do for a repentant and sincere heart, once there is a mouth confession.

4. Jesus is always moved by the open declaration for God's kingdom. (the thief declared openly that he should remember him)

5. Jesus is merciful to the one who comes to Him. When you come to Him he shows mercy.

6. The mercy from Jesus overrules whatever sin has been committed. No sin is too big for mercy to overrule.

7. Nobody is too bad or dirty to call upon Jesus.

8. Even the worst of sinners can make it to heaven if they acknowledge Jesus as Lord and His power to save.

The adulterous woman discover Jesus Luke 8:4-11

Luke 8:4, 7, 10-11

4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

10-11 When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

The woman was caught in the very act of adultery and was brought to Jesus Christ. Her encounter with Jesus was dramatic as it shows the compassion of Jesus Christ. The Discovery of Jesus in this woman's encounter are as follows:

1. Regardless of our sin, Jesus looks at us differently.

2. Jesus is more compassionate towards sinners because he understands the nature of man. He came in a body like us, so he feels what we go through.

3. Jesus does not condemn us, no matter how grievous our sin is.

4. He is never interested in accusing or condemning any man. He is more interested in repentance.

5. Jesus believes anybody can be better regardless of the past. He believes in our ability.

This two people saw Jesus as a loving, compassionate, and merciful personality. You need to encounter Jesus to discover more of him. On a daily basis let us seek to know Him more. And as you do this, He will draw near to you.  May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He let His face shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.
