Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
What is a reward?
A thing given in recognition of service, effort, or achievement.
So God gives something in recognition of service, effort and achievements. What he gives depends on individuals expectations, worth or value.
Today, we shall be looking at one of the things that God reward- FAITH.
God reward faith
What is faith? Faith is the action taken to align with Gods instruction or word.
Faith is the assurance, firm belief, or firm conviction that what you hope for will be done.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
James 2: 20-22 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
The way to work with God is FAITH. In fact, the scripture says without faith it is impossible to please God. One of the challenges we have in the present time is that faith in God has dropped drastically. People no longer have faith. People only have religion but no faith.
What we don't know is that God does not reward religion but he rewards faith. This is because religion does not please God, what please God is your faith.
Let us look at some examples
1. God rewarded the faith of Abel
Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
In Genesis 4:3-7 Abel offered his offering by faith in God and God accepted him while Cain offered his offering religiously and God did not accept his offering.
God will reward your faith today in Jesus name.
2. God rewarded the faith of Abraham
Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
In Genesis 22:15-18, God rewarded Abrahams faith, by swearing by His name to bless him and multiply his seed as the stars of heaven and the sand of the seashore.
3. God rewarded the faith of the woman with the issue of blood
Luke 8:43-48 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
The woman did not play religion she actions her understanding of the scripture. The scripture says the anointing flows from the head of Aaron to his beard and to the helm of his garment. With this understanding, she launched out in faith defying all obstacles to touch Jesus.
What are you doing? What action of faith are you taking? It is time to receive of God, demonstrate your faith and be sure that God's attention will be drawn to you, to reward you in Jesus name.
