Mercy is the blessing, approval, acceptance, attention received as against the punishment, curse, disapproval, deserved.
God's ultimate mercy is revealed in Jesus Christ who by His death brought us into a new covenant where we can access grace.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
The exploit of God's mercy s seen in the bible leading us into a new understanding of the personality of God:
1. Hagar: The God that sees me.Genesis 16:1-13
Genesis 16:13 And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
Hagar was in distress, affliction and frustration after waring with her master's wife due to the jealousy of her master's wife Sarai over her pregnancy. He did not deserve God's mercy because she was not the one chosen by God to bear the child of promise for Abram, she was a product of Man's choice.
Anytime you make a choice outside God's plan the outcome is always negative with future consequence.
It was Gods mercy that found Hagar despite being the bondwoman, God still saw her in her distress, affliction and frustration and went after her.
God's Mercy prevails for Hagar and the God that sees intervene in her case. By His mercy, God will see you and intervene in your case in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, you are the God that sees, intervene in my case by your mercy in Jesus name.
2. The adulterous woman: Not condemned John 8:4-11
John 8:10-11 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
This woman was caught in the very act, she deserved to be punished and condemned but God did not condemn her because mercy prevails. The people (world) condemned her but God did not condemn her.
When mercy prevails the condemned is set free without any condition.
When mercy prevails condemnation is turned around. God will turn around every condemnation hanging over your life in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, by Your mercy reverse every condemnation working against me in Jesus name. By your mercy let every condemnation hanging over my life be disannul in Jesus name.
3. The Man with an infirmity for thirty-eight years: Rise up take up your bed and walk. John 5:2-9
John 5:8-9 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
The Man was the only one among many that Jesus spoke with and healed. What qualifies him? When mercy prevails you are qualified for what you do not deserve. The man did not deserve the miracle because he lacked faith and the mental balance to receive the miracle.
Mercy will overrule all your shortcomings to qualify you for a miracle today in Jesus name
Prayer: Father, by Your mercy qualify me for a miracle today in Jesus name.
What are you waiting for Mercy is available to prevail on your behalf, just go ahead and cry unto him.
