Joy to the Wise

Writer's picture: Ayoola BabalolaAyoola Babalola

Proverbs 1:20-22

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Real joy exists in this world. We don't have to get to heaven to experience it  We can live every day long in Joy. Joy literally means a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. But it is deeper in meaning than that. Joy is a glow from within (spirit) that connects with our heart and body in such a manner that we feel safe or secured without fear.

This joy is only for the wise...

He that follows the path of wisdom is he that will automatically enjoy Joy. What are the paths of wisdom to follow:

1. Wisdom is to hate what God hate.

Proverbs 6:16-18

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

2. Wisdom is to flee sexual immorality.

I Corinthians 6:18

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

3. Wisdom is to keep good company

Proverbs 13:20

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

4. Wisdom is to win Soul

Proverbs 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise.

5. Wisdom is to work in integrity

Proverbs 11:3

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

6. Wisdom is to use word properly

 Proverbs 15:2

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

 7. Wisdom is to be prepared

 Mathew 25:1-4

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Let us embrace wisdom that we may live in Joy. Happy Sunday!
