2 Timothy 3:1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
Perilous means involving or full of grave risk or peril; hazardous; dangerous:
When we talk about perilous times we are talking about a dangerous time, a time full of risk.
According to IITimothy 3:1 Perilous times will come, we cannot escape it. We cannot pray it away, we have to deal with it. But the question is: Are we in perilous times? To answer this question we must first answer the question are we in the last days? because the scripture says perilous times will come in the last days. All the signs spoke by Jesus Christ in Mathew 24:1-51 confirms that we are in the last days.
Perilous times point to one thing - the coming of the Lord is near.
Mathew 24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
What must we do to stand the test of the Perilous times?
Knowing what to do to stand the test of the perilous times is important because Jesus said in Mathew 24:24, that if it were possible even the elect shall be deceived.
1. Understand the times: The scripture talks about the children of Issachar that they understand the times. II Chronicles 12:32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had an understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred, and all their brethren were at their commandment.
Your understanding of the times is key to help you to stand the test of the time. Perilous time is...(Mathew 24:1-end and II Timothy 3:1-7) a dangerous time, a time of war, a time of deceit. a time of sorrow, a time of betrayal, a time of affliction and killing of brethren, a time of backsliding, a time of great iniquity, a time of increased learning without understanding truth a time of hypocrisy, a time when pleasure rules, a time of great abominations, a time of great greed and self-centeredness.
2. Know what ought to be done: When you understand an issue and you don't know what to do about it is a disaster. The Children of Issachar not only understand the times but know what ought to be done. What must be done:
• Let your focus be on Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
• Let the Holy Spirit be your senior partner.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
• Put on the whole armour of God.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
• Persevere and focus on the end result (heaven)
Mathew 10:22-23 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
We are in perilous times, as you come to understand the times that we are and begin to follow the path of wisdom you will prevail and finish strong in Jesus name.
