The Dawning Of A New Day

Mathew 28:1-10

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signal the Dawning of a new day for humanity. When we celebrate Easter we are actually celebrating the new beginning that His death and resurrection established.

Dawning means the beginning. So it is the beginning of a new day.

In Mathew 28:1-10, the scripture reveals three things that happened dramatically:

1. An earthquake occurs

2. The angel rolled back the stone

3. The angel sat on the stone.

What is the significance of these three-event?

1. The Earthquake- This signifies that the natural has been swallowed by the supernatural.

I Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death has no power over you again. So when we die we only sleep to wake up into eternal life. But for those who will not accept His death will suffer eternal death or damnation.

2. Angel rolled back the stone: This signifies the removal of the hindrance, blockage to the throne of grace. We don't need Moses again, we don't need a high priest again to access God. It is a new chapter.

Mathew 27:51

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Hebrews 4:16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We can come boldly to God and He will answer us. We can access God's throne from our toilet, without any sacrifice when we go through Jesus Christ. By the stone being rolled back everyone whether Jews or gentiles can access God. Everything is made plain, we can touch God as long as we can commit to seeking Him.

3. The angel sat on the stone: This is a sign of total or permanent victory. The death of Jesus Christ brings us into a new order of victory.

- Victory over sin Roman 6:22

- Victory over sicknesses Isaiah 53:5

- Victory over curses Galatians 3:13

- Victory over every work darkness Colossians 2:14-15

- Victory over the devil Luke 10:18

- Victory over poverty II Corinthians 8:9

Begin to operate in this order of victory as given by Jesus Christ. Work in this order by faith.

I John 5:4-5

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

It is the Dawning of a new day for us if we will accept the man of the cross and walk with Him.

He promised: a new life; a life filled with joy; a life full of peace; a life hid in Christ; a life of the fullness of God; a life of blessing and prosperity; a life where things work; a life that is progressing, a life without depression and emptiness; a life full of beauty and the grace of God.
