Mathew 6:9-10 KJV
After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom comes, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Prayer is one of the adulterated doctrines of Christianity. Different denominations with different modes of prayers. Many hearts have been disabused by several un-biblical modes of prayers. We need to understand what Jesus says about prayers.
What is Prayer?
1. Act of communication with God.
2. prayer is a means of making known your supplication and petition known to God for His attention.
3. A means of fellowship and communion with God.
Medium to pray
Do you need a medium to pray?
There was no place in the Bible where Jesus taught or make use of any medium in the place of prayer. The part of the body required in prayer is your lips and heart.
Using any substance in the place of prayer (candle, incense etc) are doctrines that do not necessarily have a base in the Bible. They are inventions of men to make prayer more complicated. Jesus did not teach us to use any substance or medium to pray.
The simplicity of prayer
Prayer is so simple that anyone can access it. It does not need any protocol. As simple as Luke 23:42-43
"... Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom"(thief at the right hand of Jesus) and Jesus replied "...Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise"
Oh! What a prayer that got an immediate answer.
Prayer is so simple, it is a communication between you and your God. Jesus only gave us a guide for us to be effective in our prayers. Prayers are not meant to be a stereotype. It must be as your heart is towards your God. Engage in the right form of prayers today.
