THERE IS REST V

God's REST is the haven that every man always desire for. We all want a state of calmness, where you are in control of happenings around you. In this part, we shall be discussing one of the faith that is required to enter into God's Rest- Faith to depend on Him.

Faith to depend on God

To Depend on means to rely on or trust. If we must enter into the REST that God provides we must get to the level of depending on Him. Faith to depend on God demands:

1. Understand that God is with you: Mathew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 

For those that are of Christ, you have God with you all the time. All the time or Always means wherever you may be, whatever position or situation you are. If you have this understanding you will always depend on Him. God told the Israelites that he was with them but they did not understand, they got to the promised land and saw the people that were on the land as a giant that they can never conquer because they did not understand that God was with them. They were afraid to take over the land because they did not understand that God was with them. The understanding that God is with you will give you the courage to stand and possess the REST that God has for you. The Sovereign God is with you who can stand against you. Psalm 114:2-3, 7 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it and fled: Jordan was driven back. 

Psalm 114:7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

2. Understand that God never fails on His words: 

Isaiah 46:11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

The promise of God can not fail if God has a purpose to do something no man can stop Him. When we understand this we will not be jittery my whatever the enemy may bring up. When we become jittery, we become anxious and then fear set in. We must come to this understanding to enter God's rest because everything the devil does is just to make us see a wrong picture and give up on God. Never give up on God He watches over His word to perform. 

3. Understand that worrying and anxiety are not of God: Once we begin to fail in our faith of depending on God worrying and anxiety begins to set in.

Mathew 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

The disciples of Jesus Christ became afraid and anxious when their boat was in the middle of the storm, that they forgot that Jesus was in the boat. The real plan of the devil is for you to worry and be anxious to the extent that you can't pray, make declaration, decree, prophecy or remember the scriptures. Once he (the devil) gets you into this mood you will not be able to enter into God's Rest.

4. Understand that fear is from the devil: 

II Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

In Faith, there is no fear God is not the author of fear. The Devil always leads into fear we must be vigilant and cautious not to allow him. Once you begin to get afraid regarding a particular matter be sure that the Devil is at work, switch into the spirit by speaking in tongues immediately.

5. Understand that when you call he answers: Jeremiah 33:3  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

You need to understand that every time you pray God answers. His answer sometimes appears as if he is not saying anything but in that case, you must be very sensitive to catch what He is saying. God can answer us by making moves on our behalf without saying a word to us. You just have to come to understanding that because you are His son whenever you call he answers. When you have this understanding you will never complain or be anxious because you know that whatever may be happening God is involved. 

Friends, I am convinced that we can enter the REST that God has for us if we live to depend on Him. God never disappoints when we depend on Him.

Psalm 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
