True Love is such that is scarce in our world today. People show care, passion, and delight based on what they want to get.
What really is True Love? John 15:13 13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends I John 4:9-10 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. John 3:16 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Love of God for humanity The above scriptures define True Love has shown by God to us. God loved us so much that he gave himself for us. There is no greater love than this. He looked beyond the present, to secure our tomorrow. It is hard for a person to give up something of great value for someone else, especially when the person does not deserve the gesture.
True Love is the Love that is genuine and from a true heart. In true love is SACRIFICE, this is what is missing in the love we have today. Between husband and wife, parents and children, friends, neighbourhood, community, and nations inability to sacrifice for one another is prevalent. God showed the true love that is built on sacrifice, he loved us and gave his son for the propitiation for our sin. He did not wait till we quit sin, right in the mess he showed us the uncommon love. Not waiting for what we have to offer. If God has shown us, true Love, how do we relate with him to show Him love especially when He had said that the greatest commandment is to love Him with the whole of our heart? It is by sacrifice. What sacrifice is required of us?
1. By surrendering our life to him and accepting Jesus as our Lord and personal saviour.
2. By presenting your body as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2) in a world that is full of deceit and corruption. For example, It will take a lot of sacrifice for teenager/youth not to be involved in fornication in this present day.
3. By living a life established in love as defined in 1 Corinthians 13. True Love suffereth long True Love is Kind True Love envieth not True Love is not puffed up True Love is seeketh not her own True Love is not easily provoked True Love thinks no evil True Love beareth all things. True Love rejoices in the truth.
4. By loving your brother (neighbor, friends, family, anybody that you come in contact with) According to IJohn 4:11-13 if we love one another God dwells in us and His Love is made perfect in us. If you don't love your brother then you don't know God and God is not in you.
5. By being a witness and going all the way to preach the gospel. II Timothy 4:2. Paul paid a lot of sacrifice to do this for God. He was everywhere preaching the gospel to demonstrate his true love for God.
6. By seeking His ways. Those that seek His ways are the ones that have a relationship and communion with Him. It demands a lot of sacrifice to this because God will always place a demand on you once you choose to seek His way. Remember Moses God kept demanding time to be spent with him alone. If you truly love God you will be a way seeker and not an act seeker. Psalm 103:7.
7. By living a life of praise. If there is anything that God demands, it is praise! Praise is what will never end. David devoted time to praising God, no wonder God called him a man after his heart (Psalm 119:164). It also takes sacrifice to praise God, as Paul and Silas.
How much do you love God? Do you have True Love for God? How much can you sacrifice for Him?
To show that you have the True Love for God you must be ready to pay the sacrifice that will deliver these seven truth that is shared. God has shown us true Love, we must also be ready to show the true Love if we must please him and make it to heaven.
