WHY A MEDIUM?

1 Samuel 27:6-7
And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit in Endor.
Why do men seek a medium when our God is very much alive to speak to us. I see epilepsy that caught up with Saul getting hold of Christians of our days. Christians have become medium seekers: seeking to get the mind of God from fellow men rather than to seek to hear from God. Some Christians can no longer hear him talk again.
What an aberration: a Father that wants to tell his son to sit down and has to tell a neighbour to help him to tell his son. This is not an ideal situation!
Certainly, there is a disconnection. The sea will dry up once he loses connection with his source. If you are disconnected you can't get instructions from him again; he can't talk to you on issues that concern you again; he can't reveal secret or even reveal himself to you any longer; then you are on the path of extinction.
How did Saul get to this point?
1. Disobedience: Disconnection from God start from little disobedience to His voice or instruction. Saul's disconnection started from little disobedience to God's instruction. I Samuel 15:18-26.
2. Sensitive to man's feelings above God's way and instructions: Our God is a jealous God, he can't share His glory with anybody. Saul became more sensitive to people that he had to disregard God's order to please them. I Samuel 13:7-13. When you begin to become sensitive to what men would say above God's way and instructions you are walking on the path of being disconnected.
3. Pride: The scriptures say pride goeth before destruction...Proverbs 16:18. God dislikes pride in its totality. He can't deal with someone with pride. In Proverbs 6:16-19 God listed six things he hates, Pride was the first on the list. Saul became proud that he became envious of David to the extent of wanting to kill him. He also became proud of not going back to Saul to reconcile. If you want to stay connected you must avoid pride.
4. Lack of communion: After Saul’s disobedience by not killing the king of the Amalekite as instructed by God, Samuel seized to visit him again. He lost the communion he used to enjoy with Samuel that afford him the connection to God. To stay connected you must seek constant communion with God.
Friends, to avoid being disconnected like Saul pay attention to these four things and engage the Holy Spirit as a partner. Talk to him on every matter as a partner.
If you have been disconnected you need to rediscover yourself now and take a bold step of reconciliation with Daddy and you will begin to feel the joy of a relationship with him. Say to him "Daddy am back, restore the joy of my salvation and renew a right spirit within me".
God bless you.
