He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
The scripture talks about John the Baptist, he was indeed a fire. He tore apart both political and religious dynasties. Everyone knew that he was from God.
You can be ablaze like John, much more like Jesus Christ.
Ablaze for God is your personality so suffused with the presence and beauty of the Lord that others instinctively sense that God is with you! God's hand so clearly evident upon your life and leadership that a quiet holy power and authority seem to rest upon you!
Have you been hungering for more of the touch of the Holy Spirit upon you? Have you longed for God to put His hand more powerfully upon you?
What do you need: FIRE!
God chose fire to be the earliest, most continual major symbol and the manifestation of His presence. In the new testament, the Holy Spirit fulfilled and spiritualised Shekinah. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit transformed the Shekinah from being God's presence in a place to His presence in His people.
The Spirit's Shekinah glory, His holy flame, is for all of us believers in this dispensation of grace. It is to make us beautiful in godly personality, radiant in disposition and fruitful in life. Get ready to be ablaze for God.
One of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is fire. When Jesus Christ in Luke 12:49 said "I have come to bring fire on the earth" he was referring to the Holy Spirit.
Friends, the flaming fire of the Holy Spirit is all we need to be a true Christian. When you receive it you have to keep fanning it. In the book of Leviticus chapter six, God instructed five times that fire should not go out of the altar. The altar of your heart must continually burn to remain purified, empowered, fervent in spirit, enabled, full of zeal, supernatural power, excellent spirit, fervent faith, love, wisdom etc.
What is your spiritual temperature? Your spiritual temperature should always remain high. When the Spirit burns within you in freedom and fullness, your inner life becomes radiant, your zeal intense and your service dynamic.
God created our spirit flammable. We are spiritually combustible. Our nature is created to be set ablaze by the Spirit. We are spiritually most blessed, most victorious, most usable when we are ablaze. We are most godlike when we glow with holy flame- the flame of the indwelling Spirit.
The tendency of fire is to go out; watch the altar of your heart.
Declaration
Oh Lord send the fire into my heart once again. I want to encounter your fire once again. Oh Lord set me ablaze!
Holy Spirit the pure celestial fire, kindle a flame of sacred love, Passion, faith in the mean altar of my heart in Jesus name.
